UPT Vector 304 MLW refers to a specific configuration of a United Parachute Technologies (UPT) skydiving harness/container system.
Container & Harness Components
Vector 304: The “304” (or V304) is a specific container size from UPT’s Vector 3 series. It is a high-performance sport container designed to fit specific ranges of main and reserve canopies, typically intended for small to medium-sized configurations.
MLW: This stands for Main Lift Webbing. It is the primary vertical webbing of the harness that supports the weight of the jumper during parachute deployment and flight.
Key Specifications Sizing: The MLW length (often measured in inches, such as 16.5″ or 18″) determines the torso fit of the harness. A V304 container is often paired with MLW lengths suited for individuals between roughly 5’3″ and 5’11”, depending on their specific torso measurements.
Canopy Compatibility:
The V304 is designed for “full fitting” canopy combinations. Using canopies at the maximum end of the sizing chart can make the rig difficult to pack.
Standard Features: Modern Vector 3 rigs typically include magnetic riser covers, a deluxe backpad, and are “freefly friendly”.
To ensure a proper fit, UPT provides a detailed measuring guide to determine the correct MLW and container size based on height, weight, and torso length.
